The Hard Copies
The Day Has Arrived: My Author Copies Are Here!
Today, I experienced a moment that every writer dreams of but never quite believes will happen: my author copies of Serpentine have arrived! Holding these books in my hands feels surreal—like a physical manifestation of countless hours spent crafting stories, editing drafts, and pouring my heart onto the pages.
There's something deeply satisfying about seeing your hard work take on a tangible form. Sure, digital files and computer screens are great for getting the job done, but there's no substitute for the weight of a book in your hands. Flipping through the pages, feeling the texture of the cover, and seeing my name in print—it’s an experience I’ll never forget.
And can I just say, they look amazing? The cover design pops beautifully, the paper feels just right, and the spine has that satisfying crack when you open it for the first time. It’s everything I imagined and more.
On a lighter note, I guess I can now add “celebrity author” to my résumé—two people have already asked me for signed copies! (OK, so maybe one is my best mate and the other is another friend, but hey, it counts.) Let’s just say my autograph practice is coming along nicely. Lol.
This milestone has reinvigorated my excitement for storytelling. Seeing these books inspires me to keep pushing forward, to keep creating, and to share even more of my imagination with the world.
To everyone who’s supported me on this journey—thank you. Whether you’ve read my drafts, offered words of encouragement, or even just asked, “How’s the writing going?”—you’ve helped make this moment possible.
Here’s to many more stories, many more books, and perhaps a few more autograph requests. For now, though, I’m off to admire my book stack one more time!
Thank you all for being part of this journey. Let the next chapter begin!
